After our market jaunt on Saturday, I cooked up some of the spoils today.
The lamb and sweet potato curry dish I mentioned here (on checking back on the recipe I have to correct myself that it’s actually a middle eastern lamb dish) has just come out of the oven – to have tomorrow night (will be serving with cous cous and some of the broccoli heads I got at the AHFM).
Tonight we had the Bull Creek beef pies with home made gingered mushy peas. We all enjoyed them – well seasoned, good flavour and very nice pastry. A and I thought they were pretty generous with meat but E thought they were a bit light on (he was comparing them to the king of pies from Stone Hut in the Flinders Ranges).
I’m feeling very pleased with my purchases. To have the pleasure of buying excellent produce straight from the makers and then using it to make really delicious meals is like a gift that gives twice 🙂
