This post is a shamelessly stolen idea from Lambs Ears and Honey blog this week because I love doing lists of stuff where I am required to agonisingly choose just a few things from a much larger list, like the one where you have to choose 5 foods you would take with you to a desert island. I must post about the sublime, succulent, chickeny goodness that is my Polish friend Kasia’s roast chook. She is a great cook and does lots of exotic cooking and fabulous feasts but IMO her signature dish is her roast chicken. I don’t ever bother to do roast chook because when I really feel the need I pester her until she does this one for me (aren’t I lucky?).

Holiday Lentil Soup

This is my version of lentil soup, made while on holiday in Tasmania.
I couldn’t think what to make for dinner one night (feeling a bit bereft without my cookbooks) and so while out on a rainforest walk to a waterfall with L in a backpack on her Daddy’s back I resorted to asking my 2 year old for her opinion. L gave it some consideration and then suggested ‘soup’ which was actually quite a perfect suggestion on a rather wintery day.
